Mind Your Manners, Read With Respect

For many of us bookworms, the school library is a quiet nook to immerse ourselves in the poetic lines of The Little Prince or the insightful pages of The Myth of Sisyphus. So it's hard not to notice—and feel frustrated by—a growing issue that has been plaguing regulars: seat occupation.

Walk into the library on a busy day, and you’re met with the all-too-familiar scene: desks cluttered with a jumble of books left mid-page, thermos bottles perched triumphantly on the corners, staking claims for owners who have long vanished. Newcomers are left squatting by the shelves, struggling to skim a few sentences between constant posture shifts. How does that strike you?

The library is our shared sanctuary, and as such, it should be equally accessible to all. Hogging seats with personal items isn't merely wasteful—it shuts out peers who are eager to study, read, and dive into their work as well.

So let's turn things around, fellow readers. By clearing our seats when leaving and bringing only what we need, we can return this sanctuary to everyone. Only then can the Little Prince's healing story unfold across the desolate vastness—and Albert Camus whisper his existential philosophy to the inquiring minds.
