Dear fellow students,
I’m Li Hua, Chair of the Student Union. It’s my great honor to stand here today, at the opening of “Low-Carbon Week”, to discuss a topic that connects every single one of us: Turning our campus into a greener, more sustainable home.
Let’s start with what we see every day. Walk past the cafeteria after lunch, and you’ll find half-eaten meals tossed into bins without a second thought. Leave the classroom in the afternoon, and the air conditioner runs non-stop in an empty room. At the water fountain, taps drip continuously long after the last person has left. These casual behaviors may seem trivial on their own, but together, they reflect a mindset that takes nature’s generosity for granted.
Fellow students, a low-carbon lifestyle isn’t a distant slogan—it’s the habit to turn off a tap, the decision to carry a canvas bag, and the commitment to finish your meal. And the small acts, once accumulated, will make a big difference. Let’s take actions throughout this week, and let the changes ripple outward!
